Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama hopes his strong performances are showing the club's fans that he belongs at the Soweto giants.
Nyatama has impressed at Pirates since his off-season switch from Bloemfontein Celtic, having claimed six man-of-the-match awards and scooped the Absa Premiership Player of the Month prize for March.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns man feels he has adjusted well to his new role in the middle of the park for the title contenders.
“At Sundowns I used to play as number eight. Bloemfontein Celtic they played me as number nine and here I'm playing as number six. So far I have been enjoying my football and the coaches have brought back that hunger from me and the love for football,” Nyatama said.
“I have been working very hard on and off the field to prove to supporters and the media that I'm one of the best players.”
Nyatama, who has three goals and three assists for the Buccaneers, is encouraged by the brand of football Bucs are dishing out under the coaching duo of Milutin Sredojevic and Rhulani Mokwena.
“The highlight for the season is reaching 40 points of which last season we didn't get that, and as well as playing good football. But I still think there is room for improvement.
“We can still do better, but so far, we are on the right track.”
The Sea Robbers trail log leaders Sundowns by four points with five games left, and next visit relegation-threatened SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday (19h30).
