Tottenham striker Harry Kane vows to beat Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah to EPL Golden Boot

Tottenham striker Harry Kane claims one of Christian Eriksen's goals this weekend was, in fact, his own and vowed to beat Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for a third Golden Boot in three years.

Spurs beat relegation-threatened Stoke City 2-1 on Saturday, with Eriksen being credited with a brace at the Bet365 Stadium. But Kane insists the second goal should have taken his season's tally to 25 in the league.

"I swear on my daughter's life that I touched the ball, but there’s nothing I can do," he told Ham And High. "If they turn it around, they turn it around. If they take my word, they take my word."

Currently, five goals behind Salah's 29, Kane, who just returned from an ankle injury to complete his first 90 minutes in over a month says he's planning to emulate his incredible feat of last season.

The England international scored seven goals in the final two league games of the campaign to lift the Golden Boot award.

"It happened similarly last year," he added in reference of a potential end-of-season goal rush after an injury. "And I came back strong, and that's what I'm aiming to do this year and take that into the summer."

Kane, who looks set to star in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in June, has scored 35 goals in 41 games across all competitions this season.
