Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola revealed what he told Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba after his sensational man-of-the-match display in Saturday's derby.
Guardiola made a shocking revelation on the eve of the fixture, which was meant to be the Premier League title party for the Citizens at the Etihad, that Pogba was offered to the club by his agent Mino Raiola in the most recent transfer window.
The France international has endured a turbulent season filled with criticism for his apparent lack of influence at Old Trafford but he led Jose Mourinho's side to a 3-2 comeback victory over their fierce rivals with a stunning brace over 90 second-half seconds.
And after the fixture which cruelly postponed City's celebrations, Guardiola offered insight into what he told the enigmatic character as they were pictured having a lengthy conversation after the final whistle.
"I went to congratulate him on the result," he told reporters as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
Pogba has scored five goals and registered 10 assists in 29 games across all competitions this season.
