Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane didn’t discount the importance of Sibusiso Vilakazi in their 2-1 triumph over Baroka FC.
Sundowns kept the pace at the top of the table with a come-from-behind victory over Baroka on Sunday.
Goals in both halves from Wayne Arendse and Percy Tau set them on their way amidst the opener from Lucky Nguzana earlier in the first half as the Brazilians opened a four-point lead at the summit.
“We didn’t start well, obviously heavy legs. The third game in six days, its heavy legs and we don’t worry much about that," Mosimane told SuperSport TV.
“With time the body will adjust and we’ll get there. It’s squeaky bum time. A bit tough, but I think ‘Vila’ was an important player for us."
He also marveled at the execution of the winner converted by Tau in the earlier stages of the second half.
“You could see the experience showed with the goal Percy scored. Didn’t panic, showed his boldness. So he is getting matured," he said. "What’s important is the result despite the missed chances.
“The players know we play football at Chloorkop. It’s either you play or sit at home with your family. I really respect the supporters coming all the way from Pretoria to support us, it’s amazing,” he said.
