Joseph Molangoane eyes revenge after first round Chippa United defeat

Kaizer Chiefs utility player Joseph Molangoane has stressed the importance of claiming three points from their Absa Premiership meeting Chippa United this weekend.

Amakhosi will host the Chilli Boys at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon, looking to continue their chase on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

Molangoane, who arrived at Naturena at the start of last season from the Port Elizabeth-based club, believes not much has changed since Vladislav Heric took over from Teboho Moloi, and is under no illusion of what to expect from his former teammates.

“Chippa is a good team and they’ve been playing well throughout [the season], so it’s not going to be easy on Saturday,” said Molangoane.

“I think every coach has his different approach to the game, but for me I don’t think he [Heric] has changed much because they are still a playing team.

“We just have to go there, put everything into it and hopefully collect three points.”

‘Tight’ also believes they will need to double their efforts this time around, after previously suffering a 1-0 defeat in the corresponding fixture earlier this season.

“Every team that comes up against Chiefs, it’s not easy [for us]. Playing Chippa and knowing that the last time we played them away we lost, clearly we need to go out there and fight twice as hard so that we can get the three points,” he further noted.

Kick-off at the Calabash has been scheduled for 15h00.
