Bayern Munich legend claims Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane is perfect for the Bundesliga giants

Bayern Munich legend Oliver Khan believes Zinedine Zidane will be the perfect appointment to succeed Jupp Heynckes if he decides to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

In only his third season as a first-team football coach, Zidane remains on course for his third UEFA Champions League title but reports in Spain claim the Frenchman is likely to depart if he fails to bring silverware to the demanding Los Blancos hierarchy.

And Khan, a former captain of Die Roten and the Germany national team claims he would be the ideal replacement, with Heynckes likely to announce his retirement at the end of the current campaign.

"Zinedine Zidane is undoubtedly worth considering. I think he's sensational," Kahn said, as quoted by ESPN. "He has won everything with Real Madrid and can win his third Champions League title. He's a coach who fits perfectly Bayern Munich's requirement profile.

"He is French and can speak Spanish, so he could learn German," Kahn added. "The question is more what can he do extremely well? He can manage a star-studded squad, he was an absolute world star himself, and while many former top players don't go on to become great coaches, he has."
