On-loan Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni says he welcomes the club's decision to activate the option in his contract because they are within their rights to do so.
According to Ngobeni, who is currently on loan to Free State Stars, the Brazillians have extended his contract.
The former Kaizer Chiefs shot stopper returned to Ea Lla Koto in January without playing a single first team game for Sundowns in the first half of the season.
"Well Sundowns is my team and I'm contracted to them," Ngobeni tells KickOff.com.
"It’s true they have taken the option for another season and it is part of my contract. I am on loan at Free State Stars and I'm not complaining. Happy that I'm getting a chance to play and improve my game."
Though the Kaizer Chiefs development product sounds not too sure about his future at Sundowns next season, he says he will be always grateful for the chance the club gave him to go out and get game time elsewhere.
"Let's wait and see what the future holds. But I am not complaining. Sundowns and the coach Pitso gave me an opportunity and I'm happy with the loan for now.
"All I want is to play and this season I had no chance at Sundowns. So
I'm monitoring my situation very close as to what are the possibilities. Remember the problem is not Sundowns as a team, but rather I want game time."
