Bayelsa downed by KCC

Brian Omwony scored twice to help Uganda's KCC hand down a 3-1 defeat to Nigerian high fliers Bayelsa United in the CAF Confederation Cup third round, first leg match on Friday.

Having arrived in Kampala on Thursday, the Nigerian champions-to-be were given little time to settle as Umony stunned them in the first minute.

Moses Muhindo added a second on 56 minutes before Omwony completed his brace on 64 minutes.

Bayelsa got reward for their pressure when goalkeeper Benjamin Ochiang fumbled a cross into his own net to give Bayelsa a crucial away goal.

That away goal might just be what we need to qualify, thank you KCC goalkeeper.

Atleast now, they know the guys to cage in the return leg in Nigeria. They should also know that the opposition's goal keeper has nervy moments when crosses are produced. so as simple as that. apply pressure from the kickoff of the return leg. make them spill corner kicks. play fast game and maintain a tempo. defend with quick counter attack and you just might dump KCC out too.
Come on Bayelsa. show them why you are Nigerian Champions-to-be!
Nigeria fear no foes. read the tales of Contonsport and Al Ahly. both dumped their coaches when they knew Nigerian teams are never a walkover.
YES WE CAN!

Bayelsa Utd,Nigeria's "champions-to-be".
That sticks in my throat.I'm gutted, absolutly gutted.
I hope Heartland wins the CAF CL as a consolation.

How is it that Bayelsa arrived Uganda 24 hours before a continental championship match. What were the Nigerian officials thinking? An exhibition or friendly match? Do their officials understand what is called jet lag? I can tell you that the KCC team will be here on Tuesday or Wednesday for their weekend return leg game. Even if there is only a weekly flight to Kampala through South Africa, the preparations should be consolidated. Winning a match involves everything preparation on and off the field. Please let none of this slackness ever repeat itself, at any level of Nigeria to rule Africa in sports. Period!
