Can Stars beat Chippa again?

Posted: 17 March 2018 Time: 13:45

Free State Stars winger Sinethemba Jantjie says they will need to come up with a different plan if they are to beat Chippa United for a second week running.

Ea Lla Koto knocked Chippa out of the Nedbank Cup last season, winning the game 2-1 to progress to the quarterfinals, where they’ll face National First Division side Ubuntu Cape Town.

The two sides meet at Sisa Dukashe Stadium this afternoon (15h30), a venue that usually attracts lots of supporters.

Jantjie, who has been one of Stars’ kep players this season, will have a key role to play as league title hopefuls Ea Lla Koto look to close the gap on leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to three points.

“The cup is not the same as the league. We played them in the cup and we beat them. But this week we have to plan for a different game. Everything has been going well in terms of preparation, so we are looking forward to the game,” Jantjie tells KickOff.com.

“At least we have seen how they play [under the guidance] so we can plan for them. We will be ready for the game.”

Stars will be without suspended duo Nyiko Mobbie and experienced Rooi Mahamutsa, while the Chilli Boys have to do without their captain James Okwuosa.
