Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi backs Keletso Makgalwa to succeed

Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi has predicted a bright future for youngster Keletso Makgalwa.

The national under-20 star came on as a second half substitute during Sundowns’ Nedbank Cup game against EC Bees at Loftus stadium on Wednesday.

Even though he was not on the field for long, Makgalwa dazzled the fans with his touches and runs into the box, but he sometimes let himself down with the final ball in the opposition box.

Mngqithi believes Makgalwa, who has previously done well for Sundowns’ Multichoice Diski Challenge side, will become one of the best talents ever produced in the country.

"He is a gifted player. It's just a pity that he is playing for a big team like Sundowns. If he was playing for a team from position eight going down [on the table], he would have been a regular player and he would be contesting seriously for a position in the junior national teams. Believe me, he is something special," says Mngqithi.

The former Golden Arrows head coach adds: "He is a very gifted boy, one for the future. Honestly he is one of the top talents to be produced in the country."

Makgalwa has joined the likes of Percy Tau and Motjeka Madisha who have been promoted to the senior team at Sundowns in recent seasons.
