Sevilla defeated Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford to secure their spot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
The Red Devils made a fast start with Romelu Lukaku shooting wide following a link-up with Jesse Lingard on the edge of the box.
Sevilla striker Angel Correa rose highest to meet Ever Banega’s corner, which he headed over the bar after nine minutes.
Dangerman Luis Muriel found space from close range but sliced his shot wide across the face of David De Gea’s goal on 27 minutes.
United produced the best chance so far in the 38th minute when Marouane Fellaini called on Sergio Rico to produce a stunning save after a one-two with Alexis Sanchez.
A timeous interception by Eric Bailly prevented Correa from unleashing at goal with the hosts living on dangerous times.
Lingard created space for himself and forced Rico to get down to finger-tip his shot away for a corner after 52 minutes.
United were dealt a massive setback when substitute Yassine Ben Yedder found the breakthrough with his effort on goal after 74 minutes.
It got worse minutes later when Ben Yaddar completed his brace with a header at the far post, despite the best efforts of De Gea in keeping out the danger.
The Red Devils managed to set up a lively final few minutes when Lukaku lashed home from a corner by Marcus Rashford.
However, Jose Mourinho's men were unable to find the extra two goals it would have taken to beat Sevilla, who are through to the quarter-finals 2-1 on aggregate.
