AC Milan welcome Arsenal to the San Siro in a UEFA Europa League last-16 clash between two European giants that have fallen from grace in recent years - here are the confirmed line-ups by both teams
A fixture that would have been dubbed as a headline tie in the Champions League a decade ago has turned into a second-tier European cup competition with two club's that boast 77 major titles between them.
Just over 11 years back, the Rossoneri were European champions and FIFA Club World Cup winners under manager Carlo Ancelotti, while the Gunners were regular last-16 participants in the elite club competition.
It seems a lifetime ago since the Londoners 2003/04 'Invincibles' team, where manager Arsene Wenger boasted and masterminded one of the most fearsome squads in English football history.
The last time the two side's met in the 2011/12 season, Milan thrashed the Premier League side 4-0 in the first leg of the Champions League last-16.
The Gunners, though, nearly overturned the massive deficit in the return leg with a 3-0 victory at the Emirates, which went down as one of the classic fixtures of the modern Champions League era.
Il Diavolo were eventually dumped out of competition in the quarter-finals by winners FC Barcelona, but that season marked the beginning of a rapid decline in fortunes with the Serie A powerhouse.
Arsenal sit in 6th, Milan in 7th, in their respective domestic leagues and both sides are light-years away from Europe's new hierarchy that's been dominated by Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in recent years.
However, reigning victorious in the UEFA Europa League could be the catalyst for change for both sides as the back-door entry into next season's Champions League campaign.
Here is how both teams will line up:
AC Milan: Donnarumma; Calabria, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Kessie, Biglia, Bonaventura; Suso, Cutrone, Çalhanoğlu.
Arsenal: Ospina, Chambers, Koscielny, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Welbeck.
