Fired Baroka FC head coach Kgoloko Thobejane says he will fight the club’s decision to give him the boot.
Thobejane appeared at a hearing yesterday and was shown the door today, for allegedly drinking on the job, but the coach denied this.
Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele, who said Thobejane did not show up to the hearing initally set for last Thursday, confirmed the club’s decision to sack the coach today.
"I got a dismissal [letter] today," Thobejane tells KickOff.com.
"There was no time for questions. They just give you the letter and say you are dismissed, then it will be up to you what is the next step you are going to take."
Asked if he had any contract in place with the club, Thobejane said: "No that one let's leave it out."
Even though he plans to fight the club’s decision to fire him, Thobejane has made himself available for employment elsewhere.
"I'll be around. I'm here for football, I'm free to join any team. There's nothing really I can say except to say it's their decision, but I will be job hunting even though I will do an appeal.
“There must be an appeal, it will be there. There will be those who will do an appeal on my behalf, as for me I will be looking for a job. There are people whose job is to speak for other people, they are the ones who will be taking this further. Just because I will be appealing it doesn't mean I must sit still and not look for a job."
