Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has confirmed that MacDonald Makhubedu will remain in charge for the rest of the season after the sacking of Kgoloko Thobejane.
Thobejane has been shown the door after appearing at a hearing at the club, for allegedly drinking on the job. He failed to show up for his hearing last week, but was present for the one yesterday.
"Yes, we have released him. This time he showed up for the hearing and we gave him his letter [of dismissal]" Mphahlele tells KickOff.com.
Makhubedu has been in charge of five matches since Thobejane was suspended and is yet to suffer a defeat. Mphahlele recently told KickOff.com that the former Acornbush United coach has an opportunity to prove himself in the position and will now have until the end of the season to show he can take over in the long run.
"He will finish the season. We think he can do well. He has done well and we have not lost in the last five matches, so we will give him until the end of the season and then we will take it from there," Mphahlele says.
Goalkeeper coach of the Multichoice Diski Challenge side Tshegofatso Machoene was shown the door, as well as kit manager Delbert Lekoana.
Baroka recently released captain Olaleng Shaku and Oscarine Masuluke.
