Pitso Mosimane and Roger de Sa in hot water with the PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane and Platinum Stars counterpart Roger de Sa are in hot water with the PSL for comments made about match officials.
Mosimane's comments came after the Tshwane derby stalemate with SuperSport United on February 24.
He told SuperSport TV: "You heard what Gavin Hunt said, you heard what Benni [McCarthy] said. Benni will forever be called to the DC because that guy there, Mr [Nander] Becker, only wants to collect money from the coaches.
“I’m not sure about the SuperSport goal. What I know is that the linesman was late and it was probably not offside. What I can guarantee he was late not once, twice or three times, he was forever late.”
A day earlier De Sa spoke out on the performance of headline-hogging referee Victor Gomes following a 2-1 loss to Maritzburg United.
“I think before the game starts, you see who comes up for warm-ups, you got to be prepared for it. I think the stats will tell you more than anything, it’s not gonna be a football show but it’s going to be somebody else stealing the show,” said De Sa, who received a red card from Gomes.
“You know that and everybody knows that. I think not just me as a coach, but I think every coach knows that.
“If that is what the game is about... I think a good game is about when the game ends and you don’t even know who refereed. I think if more referees knew that we'd probably have better football all round.
“Sadly we are not in charge of that department and we just got to knuckle down, and bigger and better people haven’t changed it that aimed to change that.”
He added: “They are so protected and untouchable, but it’s about time that some of these guys take responsibility for their actions on what it does for the livelihoods of many people, because they have a massive effect.
“I understand mistakes... but come on guys. The stats are there... really how much more? I mean the worse thing about it, I said to him after the game, I said ‘Mr ref’, I actually said, ‘Victor, come on you can’t have a Gomes show every week’ and those are my exact words. Is that a red card?
“I was actually giving him a bit of advice and he turned around and said, ‘no, it’s a red card and it’s ungentlemanly conduct’.”
The PSL have since released a statement, which reads: 'The Premier Soccer League has addressed formal correspondence to the Platinum Stars FC head coach Mr Roger de Sa and to the Mamelodi Sundowns FC coach Mr Pitso Mosimane.
'This follows comments made by the two respective coaches concerning match officials on 23 and 24 February 2018.
'The League has given both coaches five working days to respond to a request asking them to formally confirm or deny the comments attributed to them.'
