Birthday boy Vuyo Mere says he still feels like he is 16 and is keen to keep on playing for years to come.

The Platinum Stars captain, who turns 34 today, had admitted to that he is having one of the most difficult seasons of his career, as Dikwena are battling to move away from the bottom of the table.

He was won a number of major trophies throughout his career but he now has to use his experience to try do a 'mission impossible'.

Stars are on 17 points with seven matches still to be played this season. They suffered defeat to Free State Stars over the weekend, despite taking the lead. It’s going to be difficult for them to avoid relegation this term.

"Yes, this is one of my most difficult seasons in the PSL. We didn't have a good start to the season and it was always gonna be difficult to come out of it," he tells this website.

Mere started his career as a teenager with Hellenic and has gone on to play over 400 games in the PSL, also featuring in the colours of Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroka Swallows and Dikwena.

"It's a blessing to grow up and see 34 years in my life, but I still feel as fresh as a 16-year-old," he adds.

Dikwena will take on Bloemfontein Celtic at Dr Molemela Stadium on March 18.
