Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says the country is yet to see the best of Uruguayan winger Gaston Sirino.

Sirino completed his first full match for Sundowns in the 3-1 win over AmaZulu on Friday, putting in a decent shift at King Zwelithini Stadium.

However, Mosimane expects goals from the 27-year-old, who have played five times in the league since joining the log leaders in January from Bolivian outfit Bolivar. He netted 18 times in 41 appearances at his former employers.

"You guys haven’t seen Gaston, he’s not yet on top form... he’s still coming,” Mosimane said.

"Gaston scores goals. He’s struggling to score goals [now] and he’s looking for his first goal."

Sirino had a chance to score when he lost his marker Mbongeni Gumede in the 85th minute before firing into the side-netting in Umlazi, Durban.

Mosimane feels George Lebese was better placed to score on that occasion but understands that Sirino is anxious to open his account.

"I think there when he went for goal he should’ve brought it back for George Lebese to tap in," Mosimane added.

"But I understand he wants to score his first goal. Last week he took a shot and the goalkeeper of SuperSport United [Ronwen Williams] saved the ball and the ball hit the post.

"In Cape Town against Cape Town All Stars [in the Nedbank Cup round of 32] he went through one-on-one and he hit the goalkeeper’s leg.

"I tell him to relax and the goal will come. Gaston is a good player."

Downs will start their CAF Champions League campaign against Rayon Sports in Rwanda on Wednesday.
