Bayern Munich showed their class with a 4-0 thumping of Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday evening.

The Bavarians boast a whopping 20-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table and are edging closer to another title.

Lucas Höled almost handed Freiburg the lead in the 12th minute after being sent through on a counter-attack, but Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich made a brilliant stop with his legs.

The hosts were unlucky in the 25th minute as Thomas Muller’s strike across the face of goal was deflected into the back of the net by goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow.

The Bavarians extended their lead four minutes later in stunning fashion as Corentin Tolisso hit a wonderful long-range strike that left Schwolow with no chance.

The visitors had the momentum after 35 minutes and were threatening to find the third goal, with Tolisso going close to getting his brace but he was not accurate enough.

The score remained 2-0 as the sides entered the half-time break.

Sandro Wagner bagged Bayern's third goal 10 minutes into the second stanza after slotting home from close range following a goal-mouth scramble in the box.

Thomas Muller made it 4-0 to the Bavarians 20 minutes before time with a glancing header at the near post following a cross from Joshua Kimmich.

Jupp Heynckes’s charges were cruising with 10 minutes to play as Freiburg’s confidence took a huge knock.

Freiburg pushed for a consolation goal in the closing minutes but Heynckes’s troops kept the clean-sheet and clocked all three points.
