Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama claims Kaizer Chiefs were the better team in the Soweto Derby

Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama has claimed that Kaizer Chiefs were the better team, despite his side claiming a 3-1 in the Soweto Derby.

The Buccaneers kept their title hopes alive thanks to a brace from Luvuyo Memela and Thembinkosi Lorch's first-half opener.

Nyatama, who was awarded the Man of the Match, says that Pirates did not play their usual way on the day.

“It was not easy. I don’t think we’ve played our game model [but] I’m happy we managed to get the three points Kaizer Chiefs were a better team today but we scored our goals,” Nyatama told SuperSport TV.

“We are a playing team, we start from the back but today Chiefs were pressing us high and we couldn’t get out of those situations but in one or two occasions we managed to come out but I’m happy we managed to get the three points.

“It’s such an honour and privilege to be Man of the Match today on this game and I look forward to improving my game.”
