Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic hints at 2018 World Cup swansong

Posted: 2 March 2018 Time: 19:00

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic hinted he may come out of international retirement to represent the Sweden national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia this year.

Ibrahimovic's illustrious career has come to an abrupt halt over the past year due to a knee ligament injury suffered during the 2016/17 Premier League campaign and last represented Blågult at Euro 2016.

However, 11-time Swedish Player of the Year revealed he may be convinced into an international swansong in June at the age of 36.

"I miss the national team," he told Swedish press, as quoted via AS. "If I want, I do it. I want to feel that I can deliver a good performance."

Ibrahimovic is Sweden's all-time record goal-scorer with 62 goals in 116 caps.
