Confirmed Line-Ups: FC Barcelona v Atletico Madrid

Posted: 2 March 2018 Time: 10:20

LaLiga leaders FC Barcelona will face second-placed Atletico Madrid in a top-of-the-table clash. Here are the confirmed line-ups for both sides.

The hosts have dropped six points in their last five league games, allowing Diego Simeone’s side to cut their gap to the league leaders to just five points.

A win for Atletico could see Barcelona’s advantage melt further down to just two points. The Rojiblancos enter the game on the back of eight wins in their last nine games.

What makes this run more impressive is the fact that Atletico’s defense only conceded a goal in two of these matches.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are still unbeaten in the league but have somewhat stuttered in recent weeks, dropping points against Espanyol, Getafe and Las Palmas.

However, looking at the head-to-head record, the Blaugrana are favourites for the clash after winning nine of the last 13 contests between the two sides. Barca’s last home defeat to Atletico dates back to February 2005, 13 years ago.

The much-anticipated game will also see Lionel Messi clash with Antoine Griezmann. While Atletico are Messi's second favourite victim - he has scored 27 goals in 35 games against them - Griezmann has been in superb form in 2018 and enters the match after scoring seven goals in his previous two encounters.

Here is how both teams will line up:

FC Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Umtiti, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta; Coutinho; Messi, Suarez.

Atletico Madrid: Oblak, Luis, Godin, Gimenez, Vrsaljko, Thomas, Gabi, Koke, Saul, Griezmann, Costa.
