Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic is expecting Zambian striker Justin Shonga to continue where he left off last weekend, when they take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby tomorrow.
Shonga bagged himself a brace in a 4-2 victory over Chippa United at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium last Sunday and Micho expects more of the same against an Amakhosi side that does not give much away in terms of goals at the back.
Shonga has registered three goals and two assists since joining the Buccaneers earlier this season and will no doubt be looking to get on the score sheet in his first Soweto Derby on Saturday.
The likes of Collins Mbesuma and the late Dennis Lota, his compatriots who played for the Buccaneers, have scored in this match.
“I believe that he can score much more. He has worked very hard and nothing has come from the sky for him,” Micho tells KickOff.com.
“He has put in blood, sweat and tears to bring himself in good shape and I pray that he does not become big headed. With the same passion he needs to continue because he knows how hard it was to get himself in good shape. Now that he has opened his account, he needs to put more in the account and I expect that to happen on Saturday.”
Shonga will have an interesting battle against Amakhosi’s in-form defender Daniel Cardoso, who has been the club’s most improved player by a mile this campaign.
