Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane reckons Percy Tau is the clear favourite for the PSL Footballer of the Season award with eight games to go.
Mosimane in September last year declared his desire to help the forward become the best player in the country.
And he believes Tau, who has nine goals and as many assists in the league this season, is showing the quality worthy of the PSL's top individual playing prize.
"Percy Tau, what an unbelievable player. I am waiting to see who is going to challange Percy for footballer of the year and players' player of the season," Mosimane said.
"I am waiting and I need the name now to say it's nine games to go or eight games to go, who is challenging Percy Tau on footballer of the year and players' player of the year.
"He must take everything. He is scoring goals and he is assisting. You must give him everything, he deserves it. What a brave youngster."
'Jingles' gave credit to the 23-year-old for combining hard work with talent.
"He just shows talent alone is not enough. You must back talent; you must run, you must play, you must force, you must be brave. A player like this in South Africa we have not seen in a long time. He is unbelievable."
The table-topping Brazilians will visit 10th-placed AmaZulu in Durban on Friday (18h00).
