Log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns have suffered a blow in a crucial stage of the title race following an injury to Ivorian defender Bangaly Soumahoro.
Soumahoro has been ruled out for six weeks with a knee problem sustained in a 1-1 draw with Free State Stars last week.
Fellow centre-back Ricardo Nascimento also appeared in discomfort in the Tshwane derby with SuperSport United on the weekend, but coach Pitso Mosimane has indicated the Brazilian will be ready for Friday's clash with AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium.
"Ricardo has been struggling with cramps because he has not been training well," Mosimane said.
"He has not been sleeping because he has got a new baby and you know the story, they don't sleep at 3am. And he is alone here with his wife with no family. We said he must never train but come and play. We need to support him."
Meanwhile, 'Jingles' hopes rotating his squad will bear fruit when the club starts their CAF Champions League campaign against Rwandan outfit Rayon Sports in Kigali next month.
"We have been keeping our Bafana Bafana players out of the team for the last three or four games. I think you are aware because they have a lot of mileage in their legs and we need them fresh.
"We kept [Themba] Zwane out for some time. We kept [Hlompho] Kekana out for some time and we kept 'Vila' [Sibusiso Vilakazi] out for some time. When you see him coming like this he is fresh, he has got energy. This is the Vila I know, this is the Sibusiso Vilakazi I know. I am happy when I see them coming back and they are fresh because we have a different campaign remember."
The Brazilians are four points clear at the Absa Premiership summit with eight games remaining.
