LaLiga president Javier Tebas calls for FC Barcelona forward Luis Suarez punishment

LaLiga President Javier Tebas says FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez deserves a severe punishment for 'cheating' during their 6-1 thrashing over Girona on Saturday.
Suarez netted a hat-trick as the Blaugrana maintained their lead at the summit of the Spanish top-flight but Tebas was riled by the Uruguayan's antics late on in the fixture.
With the game wrapped up with Suarez scoring the sixth goal by the 76th minute of the encounter, the controversial forward seemingly committed numerous cynical fouls - but failed to receive a booking from referee Javier Alberola.
It's now been alleged that the 31-year-old was attempting to earn his fifth yellow card of the season to receive a one-match ban and miss next week's fixture against relegation favourites Las Palmas on Thursday.
With Suarez attempted suspension for the game against the La Union Deportiva, the former Liverpool forward would've had a clean disciplinary record for the title-deciding fixture against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
"He deserves a ban for trying to get his fifth yellow card," Tebas told Cadena Cope. "I'm going to work hard to ensure that football is free of tricks and cheating."
Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal missed their last-16 UEFA Champions League first leg fixture against Paris Saint-Germain this month, after receiving a one-match suspension from UEFA for the same offence.
