Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar set to miss the rest of the season

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is set to miss their crucial UEFA Champions League tie against Real Madrid and the next two months as he prepares to undergo surgery.

According to reports in Brazilian media outlet Globoesporte, the former FC Barcelona forward sprained his ankle and fractured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during the 3-0 victory over Marseille on Sunday.

There have been rumours of disagreements between club and country over Neymar's injury, with the Selecao in favour of the operation in order to have their attacking talisman fit for their World Cup campaign.

However, Les Parisiens want to hold and explore other options to see if the 26-year-old could still feature for the club, as the operation would likely end his season with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Neymar has been in scintillating form since his arrival at the Parc des Princes, scoring 29 goals and registering 17 assists in 29 games.
