German Bundesliga match report Borusia Dortmund v Augsburg 26 February 2018

Posted: 26 February 2018 Time: 22:50

Borussia Dortmund and Augsburg shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga on Monday night.

The visitors were pushing for a return to winning ways, having suffered back-to-back defeats to RB Leipzig and Stuttgart.

Marco Reus was handed another start for the home side after netting the winner on his return in Dortmund's last league outing.

Reus made it two goals in as many games after 15 minutes with a composed finish from close range after Augsburg failed to deal with Andre Schurrle's cross from the left flank.

The visitors were on the back foot for most of the half, but they carved out an opening just before the break when Stephen Schmid forced Roman Burki into a fine save at the near post from a set-piece.

Schmid went close once again for Augusburg 10 minutes into the second half with a glancing header that sailed just wide of the upright.

However, with 17 minutes remaining, Augsburg managed to level matters with Kevin Danso firing past Roman Burki from close range.

That proved to be the final piece of goal-mouth action in the match as the encounter ended level at 1-1.
