Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho comments on relationship with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has commented on the frosty relationship with Antonio Conte and their alleged reconciliation after Sunday's Premier League encounter with top-four rivals Chelsea.

Second-placed United produced a gutsy display in the 2-1 victory at Old Trafford that typified what Mourinho expects from his side, defensively resilient and efficient in attack, to move six points clear of the fifth-placed Blues.

However, most of the talk surrounding the fixture focused on the feud with Conte. But the Portuguese tactician has now brushed aside the incidents of the past, in which he labelled the Italian as a 'clown' and 'cheat'.

"The handshake doesn't need any words," Mourinho told Sky Sports. "That's what me and Antonio want to show to everyone. We are not two ordinary people in football. We have a history."

"So, we beat a very good team, we had to be organised, everybody had to follow the game plan and have spirit. We beat a very good team."
