Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has often been labelled as 'arrogant' and 'selfish' throughout his career but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner silenced even his staunchest of critics on Saturday.
In the never-ending debate surrounding the two biggest names in world football between Ronaldo and FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi, the former has been scrutinised by European press over his alleged selfish behaviour, despite his statistics backing the Portugal international as a modern-day sporting icon.
But in the 4-0 victory over Alaves this past Sunday, the 33-year-old handed much-maligned strike partner Karim Benzema the chance to score a second-half stoppage time penalty, in favour of netting his 50th career hat-trick and 301st LaLiga goal, according to Marca.
It marked the return of form of the infamous 'BBC' attacking trio, with all three [Bale, Benzema, Cristiano] etching their names on the scoresheet and the Santiago Bernabeu faithful revelled in the gesture of their star forward.
Ronaldo has now scored 10 league goals and registered two assists in his last six appearances.
