Spanish LaLiga match report Real Madrid v Deportivo Alaves 24 February

Posted: 24 February 2018 Time: 15:45

Real Madrid showed their class with an emphatic 4-0 win over Deportivo Alaves on Saturday evening.

Zinedine's charges came into the clash on the back of a 3-1 win over Leganes on Wednesday evening.

Los Blancos carved out their first chance in the 18th minute when Gareth Bale slipped in Karim Benzema, who failed to hit the target from close range.

Alaves created a chance of their own on 31 minutes as Alfonso Pedraza combined with Manu Garcia before firing over the crossbar from the edge of the box.

The deadlock was eventually broken one minute before the break as Benzema turned provider to tee up Cristiano Ronaldo, who slotted home from inside the box.

A minute into the second stanza, Real found a second goal through Gareth Bale's clinical strike inside the box after being set up by Benzema.

It got better for Los Blancos on the hour mark when Ronaldo drilled the ball into the bottom corner to extend the lead to 3-0.

Benzema finally got his name on the scoresheet in the 90th minute when Real were awarded a penalty. Ronaldo allowed the Frenchman to take the spot-kick, which he duly converted.
