AS Monaco defender Andrea Raggi wants Claudio Ranieri, Mario Balotelli back in Italy squad

Posted: 24 February 2018 Time: 13:45

AS Monaco defender Andrea Raggi endorsed a potential return of forward Mario Balotelli and manager Claudio Ranieri to the Italy national team.

Raggi worked under Ranieri during his time at Monaco between 2012 and 2014, before he famously led Leicester City to the Premier League title in the 2015/16 campaign.

Meanwhile, Balotelli, who won the last of his 33 senior caps back in 2014, has been in scintillating form with OGC Nice this season, netting 21 goals in 29 games.

"Ranieri is ready and has everything it takes to be the next Coach of the Italian national team," the veteran defender told reporters, as quoted via Football Italia.

"Balotelli? He is a great player and can be an extra weapon for Italy. He's showed in these two years in France that he's in great shape. He scores in almost every match."
