AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli 'feels sorry' Arsenal ahead of Europa League Last 16 encounter

AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli claims he feels sorry for Premier League side Arsenal after they were drawn together for the UEFA Europa League last round-16 tie.

Mirabelli insinuated the draw meant it's the end of the road for the Gunners in the European club competition and conceded it would've been a draw fit for the final of the Europa League.

"I'm sorry for Arsenal, who I'm sure would have liked to have continued in Europe," Mirabelli said, as quoted via Sky Italia.

"It would have been a nice final, but I'm happy. It's best to face a big club like Arsenal now. We needed opponents like these."

The first-leg at the San Siro will take place on 8 March, before the return fixture at the Emirates a week later.
