Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie says he is looking forward to meeting his former Supersport United team-mates for the first time since leaving the club last month.

Brockie is likely to get another opportunity in the Sundowns starting line-up when they host Tshwane rivals SuperSport at Lucas Moripe Stadium tomorrow evening (18h00).

Brockie joined the Brazilians from Matsatsantsa in a deal believed to be a little over R10 million.

The New Zealand-born striker is yet to score for the Chloorkop giants and will be hoping to get the monkey off his back tomorrow.

"It will be very nice. I am looking forward playing against the boys this weekend.

"Hopefully the crowd turns up in Atteridgeville. It will be nice to get the back of the net for the first time playing against my old club," he says.

Brockie holds great memories from the time he spent with Matsatsantsa. He won two Nedbank Cup titles, played in the CAF Confederation Cup final and scored 54 goals for the club.

SuperSport may hold a special place in his heart, but he will celebrate if he scores against his former employers.

"Yes, I had good memories at Supersport and now I am on a new journey. I will celebrate goals like every time I do [when I score goals]," says the striker.

"I am still in touch with a couple of the guys in the team like [Dean] Furman, [Thuso] Phala. They still give me lot of support as well. It’s just a matter of time before one goes to the back of the net.

"I have to make special mention of the [Sundowns] fans. Even now [against Free Stars Stars] they still supported me. I would like to thank them," he adds.
