Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane happy to see loaned out players getting game time

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he has been impressed with the players he sent out on loan during the transfer window last month.

Siyanda Zwane has proven to be a great addition on the right flank for Ajax Cape Town and already has an assist, while Ivorian forward Yannick Zakri has bagged himself two goals since joining the Urban Warriors, although he has struggled with injury in the side’s last two matches.

Algerian left-back Fares Hachi has played three matches for Chippa United and has one assist. Mogakolodi Ngele, who made just one substitute appearance for the Brazilians in the first half of the season after returning from a loan spell at Bidvest Wits, recently bagged himself a goal for SuperSport United in a 4-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic.

Goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni finally got his first appearance of the season in the Nedbank Cup last 32 against National First Division side Super Eagles, but has tough competition from number-one shot stopper Badra Sangare.

“It has been very good. The guys we loaned out for game time are getting game time. Zakri scored two goals, Zwane shows that he deserves a chance in the team. Ngele left and he has scored one goal. Thela Ngobeni is getting a chance and I saw Fares bringing in a cross which was converted into a goal. So it’s been good, it’s right,” Mosimane tells

“But it’s not the first time we do that. Malajila and Ngele went to win the league with Wits [last season] when we loaned them out. But we can’t say why did we send them out on loan when they are playing there, because they can’t all play. If we did not loan them out, there’d probably not be playing. So it’s good to give them a chance [to play elsewhere].
