Kaizer Chiefs have been boosted by the return to full training of centre-back Erick Mathoho, midfielder George Maluleka and striker Gustavo Paez.

Maluleka (calf) and Paez (hamstring) missed the past two games against Golden Arrows and Cape Town City with their respective knocks, while Mathoho sat out the Citizens clash with an ankle complaint.

However, the trio are back in contention for Saturday's league visit of Bloemfontein Celtic to FNB Stadium (20h15).

“'Mido' [Maluleka] is back in full training,” Chiefs' first team physiotherapist Dave Milner told the club's website.

“He has responded well to the treatment and we are optimistic that he will go through training without a glitch.”

Meanwhile, Dumisani Zuma will start light training this week as he makes his way back from a groin problem that also ruled him out of the previous two matches.

Fellow forward and long-term casualty Emmanuel Letlotlo is set to have a strength test on his knee to assess his state of recovery.

New signing Kabelo Mahlasela, who damaged his knee in training on his arrival at Naturena in January from Celtic, is no longer on crutches.

“He will see the specialist to give us an indication if he can start running on the pitch,” said Milner of the playmaker.

One more concern for coach Steve Komphela is defender Teenage Hadebe, who has a niggling ankle injury.

“We are checking Teenage,” Chiefs physiotherapist concludes. “We will monitor him throughout the week.”

Komphela's side are in the hunt for a double after two seasons without silverware under his watch.

The Glamour Boys trail Absa Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by four points in the final third of the campaign, with the Brazilians boasting a game in hand.

Amakhosi also have a Nedbank Cup last-16 date with National First Division side Stellenbosch FC.
