Sono: Highlands will tear us apart

Jomo Cosmos boss Jomo Sono insists his depleted side will be at the mercy of NFD leaders Highlands Park today, saying his team is "like a sheep with broken legs".
Cosmos recently sold influential trio Frederic Nsabiyumva, Linda Mntambo and Mxolisi Macuphu to Chippa United, while three other players are unavailable for the contest at Vosloorus Stadium, according to Sono.
Ezenkosi are fourth on the second-tier table with 30 points from 20 games - 11 points shy of the Lions of the North.
"Ja, it's not gonna be easy because we have a very depleted squad," Sono tells KickOff.com.
"I mean you know we lost three players and also now we've lost another three players... [Silas] Maziya who has been one of our top players this year and 'Messi' [Tebogo Tlolane] is also not available, his two brothers died last week. And then we also lost our central midfielder Mdu [Mduduzi Sibeko] who is out because of a knee injury. So we are still trying to put a team together to face Highlands Park on Sunday.
"Highlands Park will do as they please. I'm telling you, we will be torn apart. They've found themselves a sheep with broken legs sitting under a tree. We must just make sure they don't beat us by four goals. If only we can manage to hold them to a 1-1 draw, but I'll put something together. What can I say? I'm required to put 11 on the field because if I don’t I will be in trouble. I'm not used to the bus-parking game, I don't even know how to park a bus. If it was up to me I would run. They are the hottest team, they've already won the league, they are the champions.
"You know when you play champions you don't have to motivate your players. We are playing champions and they have two very good coaches, highly respectable coaches. They know their story as they have been there before, so they know this league. They also know that they've won the league already."
Sono maintains he is not playing mind games by saying Highlands have automatic promotion to the topflight sewn up.
"Me, I don't play mind games, my head doesn't have time to carry games. This is true, they've won the league come on... seven points (Ed: eight points)? There's no way you cannot win the league leading by seven points in the second round. No but we'll try, what can we say? We've signed with the league that we will play, so we'll have to play on Sunday."
