The 21-year-old striker has scored four goals in the last five matches, most recently finding the net in a 3-0 win over Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup last-32 at FNB Stadium last weekend.

Moon, however, is mindful his growing profile can attract bad influences.

He is leaning on the likes of senior teammates Bernard Parker and Siphiwe Tshabalala for advice, as well as his older brother Bryce, who played for Bafana Bafana, Mamelodi Sundowns and Greek side Panathinaikos in his prime.

“Suddenly everybody wants to be your friend,” Moon told his club's website.

“It’s therefore crucial to choose your friends carefully and stay focused.”

Moon, who joined the club as a free agent last term after rejecting a new deal at Maritzburg United, is simply focusing on his job as Amakhosi go in search of a league and cup double.

“The moment you score you want to get that feeling all the time,” Moon said.

“But I mustn’t put too much pressure on myself. I take it one game at the time.

“It’s great to score, but in the end it’s all about the team.”

Chiefs next host title rivals Cape Town City at FNB Stadium on Saturday (20h15). Both sides trail Absa Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by seven points with 10 games left.

Moon expects a battle at Soccer City.

“They are a tough side. It’s crucial that we keep the momentum after last week’s win.

“If we get the three points, we will continue to be in the mix to win the league title.”
