AmaZulu winger Jabulani Ncobeni says the team is in high spirits as they go in search of another derby win tonight.
Usuthu will tackle Maritzburg United in a league tie at Harry Gwala Stadium (20h00), having recently defeated Durban rivals Golden Arrows and seen off Mthatha Bucks in the Nedbank Cup last-32.
Cavin Johnson's side, who next meet NFD strugglers Ubuntu Cape Town in the cup, have their tails up with four wins and two draws in their last six outings.
"Well, the team spirit is very high in the camp at the moment,” Ncobeni told his club's website.
“We defeated our rivals Lamontville Golden Arrows before winning our Nedbank Cup Last 32 match against Mthatha Bucks.
“We are all motivated because we are undefeated in our last five league games and we are also playing some good football.
“We moved further away from the relegation zone and we are now in the top eight on the league standings.
“The coach has been doing a great job hence the team is doing well again. We are now looking forward to facing Maritzburg,” concluded the 25-year-old, who has made 11 appearances since joining AmaZulu in the off-season from the now-defunct Thanda Royal Zulu.
Johnson will be without suspended midfield enforcer Michael Morton this evening.
AmaZulu are eighth on the Premiership table with 26 points from 20 games - two points behind sixth-placed Maritzburg, who registered a 1-1 draw in the reverse duel.
