Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Monaco midfielder Fabinho after the Brazil international confirmed he's ready for a new challenge.
Reports surfacing in Brazilian media and Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claim the Red Devils are in prime position to land the defensive midfielder who's equally adept at right-back.
The Ligue 1 Champions refused to release Fabinho in the off-season when United launched their initial bid for the 24-year-old but his latest comments with L'Equipe may see United trigger his €50million release clause at the end of the 2017/18 season.
"My time with Monaco was good but I feel my time here is coming to an end," Fabinho told the French publication.
"I know that the club's vision is to try to finish second and qualify for the Champions League without counting on big-name players but on young players. I believe I have gone through this process.
"I arrived as an unknown, I made my name at the club, won things; but maybe I need a new challenge."
