Former Barcelona forward Hristo Stoichkov doubts Paris Saint-Germain ace Neymar will join Real Madrid

Former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach and Barcelona forward Hristo Stoichkov says he can't see Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar joining Real Madrid.

Real have been strongly linked with an off-season move for Brazil international, despite the 26-year-old only departing fierce rivals Barcelona six-months ago in a world record €222 million deal to PSG.

His move to the Ligue 1 side has proven to be an instant success in his pursuit of the Ballon d'Or honour, with 27 goals and 16 assists in 26 games across all competitions.

Neymar has been cited as the heir to Cristiano Ronaldo's role as the club's attacking talisman at Los Blancos but Stoichkov doesn't see the sensational transfer happening.

"I don't see him at Real Madrid," Stoichkov told Radio Marca.

"I wish him all the best for what he's doing, but I don't believe he's going to win everything he won with Barca."
