Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says new signing Katlego Otladisa reminds him of his Liberian attacker Anthony Laffor.
Sundowns signed Otladisa from Platinum Stars last month during the transfer window and then loaned him back to Dikwena until the end of the season.
Mosimane believes the skilful winger is one for the future and will make a mark once he gets a chance to form part of the Sundowns squad. He's got the pace and ability to take players on, which is what Laffor offers Downs whenever he is on the pitch.
At the moment Otladisa is out nursing an injury and it’s unclear if he will get an opportunity to play again for Stars this term.
Before getting injured, the 21-year-old made 10 appearances for Dikwena in all competitions and scored one goal.
“He is the future. When I look at him I see Laffor. He reminds me of Laffor when he was at a younger age, that’s why we signed. You have to make sure you sign these young ones as early as you can, before they become expensive,” the former Bafana Bafana coach tells KickOff.com.
Mosimane was hoping Otladisa would get an opportunity to play more in the second half of the season, but the injury has derailed the player who only started getting game-time when Roger de Sa was appointed at Stars.
“He will remain with Platinum Stars. It’s just a pity he broke his leg now. It’s unfortunate because this is the period I wanted him for us to see what he does. But he will be okay, he’s 21. It’s also not a bad injury, the doctors have checked him.”
Mosimane revealed he is chasing more youngsters, as he looks at rebuilding the side for when the older players make way.
“There are a lot of young ones I am chasing, but I can’t tell you about them,” Mosimane says.
Otladisa, who can play on both flanks, will have strong competition when he finally makes his way to Chloorkop.
