Cape Town City are in a race to register new signing Matthew Rusike as a local in time for tonight's Nedbank Cup last-32 clash with Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium.
City last week snapped up the well-travelled Zimbabwean striker as a free agent, but are awaiting his International Transfer Clearance certificate.
Rusike previously plied his trade for Tunisian outfit Club Africain, while he has also led the line at Swedish giants Helsingborgs, Nacional Madeira, Halmstads, Kaizer Chiefs and Jomo Cosmos.
"He is going to be registered as a local," said Citizens spokesman Julian Bailey.
"The only thing waiting is his international clearance certificate.
"We are hoping it will be sorted soon, in time for the game against Wits."
Bailey also confirmed Benni McCaarthy's side will travel by bus to Swaziland on Thursday ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup opener against Young Buffaloes in Mbabane on Saturday.
