Is it Papic, is it Heric, is it Sikhakhane?

Confusion reigns regarding the head coaching position at Royal Eagles.

Earlier this week reports indicated Kosta Papic and his assistant Vladislav Heric had been fired and Chippa United technical director Roger Sikhakhane was due to take over the reins, having only returned to the Chilli Boys in January for the umpteenth time.

However, today Heric, who heard he was sacked on the radio, was sent by Eagles to do the media duties ahead of Sunday's Nedbank Cup last-32 tie with Happy Wanderers at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.

Heric had a tough time explaining the situation at the National First Division strugglers.

"Look, we are sorting out this thing. As far as I know I'm still in the club and everyone is still at the club, including Papic," said the Serbian of his compatriot.

"On how we are going to shuffle things, we'll see and we are going to have discussions today. At this moment in time I cannot tell you what is going on. As it is now we discussed that I have to take over until things are sorted. So we still haven't taken the final decision yet regarding that one.

"So what exactly happened, we'll know exactly later today on who's coming, who's taking over, who's leading the team.

"So I don't know who's the new coach, no one came and I'm still there. Maybe he's coming now, maybe he's coming in five minutes, so I don't know.

"About my future, I don't worry about that. I'm still contracted to the club, until anyone tells me something else and right now we are discussing the matter with the club. I heard on the radio that I was fired so I wouldn't be sent here for the press conference if I'm fired."

Eagles, who lost 4-0 to log leaders Highlands Park this past weekend, are third-from-bottom on the table with 19 points from 20 games.
