Clarence Seedorf has returned to football management as struggling Spanish Primera League side Deportivo La Coruna announced the Dutchman as their new head coach.
The appointment comes somewhat as a surprise given the inexperience of the 41-year-old in top-flight management, with his previous two jobs, AC Milan in 2014 and Chinese club Shenzhen in 2016, both lasting less than six months.
Seedorf, who was strongly linked with Oldham Athletic job earlier this season before the League One side hired Richie Wellens, faces a tough proposition with Depor languishing in 18th place, three points from safety.
However, at his unveiling, the legendary AC Milan midfielder claims he's relishing the challenge of his new job.
"I like challenges and we have targets to reach this season," Seedorf told reporters. "This is an attractive job, a great club with many high-quality players and I am confident we will improve our results quickly.
"Everybody here is desperate to emerge from this situation, and I think the main challenge is psychological rather than in terms of skill."
