Ajax sticking to their guns over Ndoro

Ajax Cape Town maintain they are innocent of any wrongdoing in fielding Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro in recent games with Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City.

Ndoro's eligibility is under scrutiny as he has played for three clubs - Pirates, Saudi outfit Al Faisaly and Ajax - this season, in contravention of FIFA rules.

While the PSL's Dispute Resolution Chamber gave the Premiership strugglers the go-ahead to use Ndoro, the League later indicated they would appeal the decision.

Pirates and City both contested their matches against the Urban Warriors under protest, as confirmed by Ajax official Thabiso 'Shooz' Mekuto.

"The DRC made the ruling and the PSL made an appeal. We are waiting for the hearing," says Mekuto.

"You remain innocent until proven guilty," he adds.

Muhsin Ertugral's side will revive hostilities with Bucs in the last-32 of the Nedbank Cup at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, having won their league meeting 3-0 in the Mother City last week.
