Bay United will leave the Absa Premiership after a disappointing season, which ended in a 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows today.
United were already doomed for relegation before today's match at the EPRU Stadium.
But Arrows came out to fight and show no favours. The KZN club scored the only goal of the game through Richard Henyekane with a little help from Bay goalkeeper Sheldon Baatjies in the 34th minute.
Manqoba Mngqithi's men will be very happy with their fifth place finish in the standings for 2008/09.
Arrows played some enterprising football this season and gave many neutral fans something to smile about when they played.
Supporters in Port Elizabeth, however, will be very disappointed that the Bay United dream is over.
