Dominic Chungwa almost opened the scoring in the fourth minute as he unleashed a low shot that was saved by Jody February at close range.
Chungwa had another chance for the home side in the 19th minute inside the box after Walter Musona sent a low cross into the area but he could not quite find the target.
Musona should have given Rise and Shine the lead three minutes later after going through on goal one-on-one with the goalkeeper inside the box but February spread himself big and made a crucial save.
Five minutes before the breakk, Musona let fly with a volley before the break, but his effort sailed just wide of the upright.
Tendai Ndoro should have given the visitors the lead going into the break but the Zimbabwean failed to convert from close range with one Ajax defender standing on the line.
Muhsin Ertugral made his first change at the beginning of the second half by bringing on striker Samuel Julies in place of Ndiviwe Mdabuka.
Mondli Miya almost found the breakthrough in a spectacular fashion on the hour mark with a stunning long range shot that was tipped over the bar by February.
Musona broke the deadlock 20 minutes from time with a stunning long range strike from just outside the box that beat February at the bottom corner after taking a deflection off Mario Booysen, 1-0.
With 10 minutes remaining, Sibusiso Mbonani scored an own goal after his attempted clearance from Lakay's shot sailed into his own net.
Ndoro had a chance to snatch all the three points three minutes before time with a free-kick a yard outside the box but he could not capitalise as the sides settled for a share of the spoils.
