Neymar rues Lucas Moura's Paris Saint-Germain departure

Posted: 3 February 2018 Time: 15:15

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar believes the club should never have allowed Lucas Moura to depart as he nears his proposed move to Tottenham.

Brazilian midfielder Moura put the finishing touches on a deal with Spurs after arriving in north London on Wednesday to complete medical tests.

But Neymar, who only arrived at Parc des Princes at the start of the campaign, says it is a bitter blow to both himself personally and to the club to lose the 25-year-old attacker.

"I'm sad because he's a good friend, he's a quality player who was rarely used," said Neymar.

"I think it's very unfair. He is my brother in football. I wish him the best. Whatever the destination, I hope he will score a lot and he will return to the Brazilian national team.

"He's not just a friend, he's a very good guy. Here he could have been used a lot more but I'm not the owner of the team, not the owner of Paris. For me, he should never have left Paris."
