Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says the club will miss Riyaad Norodien following his loan move to Platinum Stars, while insisting Abbubaker Mobara is still part of his plans.
Winger Norodien, who had made just two starts under ‘Micho’ so far this term, secured a deadline day loan move to Dikwena, reuniting with former Ajax Cape Town coach Roger de Sa at the struggling Absa Premiership side.
Sredojevic says the young speedster will be missed in Mayfair, but backs him to return a stronger and better player.
“Norodien, going there [to Stars], we shall miss him for these six months because he has been a master in creating the atmosphere and spirit in the team,” the Pirates head coach said. “But coming back after his long lay-off through injury, I think it will help him over the next few months to get some playing time and come back stronger.”
Meanwhile, utility man Mobara has been absent for Bucs’ last two encounters, with speculation mounting over the coach’s plans for the former Ajax defender. Yet Micho insists his vice-captain was only missing through injury.
“Mobara is our deputy captain, a player who always gives his best,” Sredojevic said. “Unfortunately his injury kept him out of the match [against former club Ajax], but we fully count on him from when he will again be ready, from a medical aspect.
“Both Norodien and Mobara are great members of our team. We love them as part xof our team.”
