Mamelodi Sundowns Percy Tau says they had to be on top of their game against Cape Town City

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Percy Tau says the Brazilians had to bring their 'A game' against Cape Town City.

Tau was awarded the Man of the Match accolade as Sundowns claimed their first win over the Citizens to move seven points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership.

“I’m so happy we got the points, thank you so much for this award. I think we really worked hard tonight. I think this is the reward of the hard work,” Tau told SuperSport TV after the match.

“We knew it was not going to be easy. They’re playing at home and have beaten us in the last three games I think so we knew they were going to give us a hard time, they are second on the log. We had to bring in our “A” game and it worked out today.

“look I think we needed that goal to give us the three points I’m happy to contribute to the team. I think we need to keep on going we still going to have tough games remember last season we lost the league in our last three games so we’re trying to improve on that. We are much stronger now. We have new signings that are helping us so hopefully we’ll work hard and win the league.”
